How is that for hand carrying? I had my old stock set up like that but I was mostly using a Gunbearer or Slik Sling then

For me, the mini arca is right where my hand wants to be when carrying it but I wanted the option, so I had it installed when I ordered the Rokstok. It’s currently not on the rifle. It only has two screws to secure it, so it’s easy peasy to install/ remove.

Is this the Srs mini arca rail?

I believe so. It was the mini arca offered by UM when ordering the Rokstok.

Take a look at mtn gear 45mm arca rail. It is the lowest profile arca that I have used. That seekins rail might be worth looking into as well.

Interesting, I wonder how that interfaces with standard arca clamps.

I would guess any rail attachment would suck to carry if they land where you place your hand. Each rifle will likely balance at a different point on the stock depending on barrel weight, length and if you’re running a suppressor etc.

The clamping surfaces are rotated 90 deg from standard so they're perpendicular to the stock. I think it would work fine with any standard arca clamp.

I have multiple of the SRS minis on all of my other guns and it does protrude a fair amount.

I think this may have been discussed already, but has anyone inletted in an AICS bottom metal in a Rokstok? I feel like I might try it on my next one when it arrives. Unless of course, there is a reason not to.

I did with a MDT Hunter Tikka bottom metal. I used a mill, bu I think it would be doable with a dremel just will take a lot of time and patience. I have seen mention that Stocky's will re-do the inlet to CTR pattern. Redsnake has a bottom metal that requires some fitting work but otherwise uses a factory T3X inlet.

I used a dremel to fit my red snake bottom metal.
Went slow. Would test fit frequently, and mark any friction points with a fat sharpie. When it was all done, I bedded with JB weld to remove any voids. 10-30 min project.

What’s really nice is that the mag-well inlet from the factory is a tight tolerance fit for the rear of an aics mag. So it ends up holding the mag super tight without any rattle or slop.

Went slow. Would test fit frequently, and mark any friction points with a fat sharpie. When it was all done, I bedded with JB weld to remove any voids. 10-30 min project.

I say go for it. Go slow, and only mill off at the friction points.
During the bedding process after cleaning any internal overflow of the bedding compound, lube a magazine with release agent and insert during the cure.

Those are about the only tips I have. The stock fill will turn into a flour/moon dust consistency when it’s being milled. Wear a mask and eye protection. And cover anything nearby you don’t want getting coated.

Most of my rifles have a full length Arca rail. Don’t really notice it. Just used to it I guess. I like the versatility.

What did you do to fill the gaps? Just a little amount of JB around the well and than clean it up or did you bed the full bottom metal? I used a dremel as well to fit the Redsnake - seems like a great fit.

Full length bedding. I wanted the bottom metal to stock interface to be as strong as possible.
