What types of industries give quote timelines not including weekends and holidays? Honest question... I mean if I say 6 months there is 48 weekend days involved not to mention holidays. So should I expect to get my customer taken care of in 7.5-8 months? Is there some sort of special chart a customer should reference?
If I own a resturant and order equipment and am told that I will have it in 120 days should I correct the manufacture and say you actually mean 156 days because of weekends and holidays? Are we talking bank holidays or just major holidays like christmas? What if the manufacture doesnt celebrate xmas do we subtract a day?
Invoices calendar days. What? Are you even being serious?
When you get a bill or an invoice that's due in 30 days does that mean you have 6 weeks to pay it? "Sorry I thought you meant 30 workdays...."
"I only work one day a week, so your 120 day lead time is really 120 weeks...."
This makes no sense. If I'm manufacturing something that takes me 30 business days, I would quote 6 weeks as lead time. That simple and not confusing like breaking the calendar apart. I'd be annoyed as hell with that method, glad I don't deal with that kind of crap.In the world of manufacturing I work in. With the hundreds of quotes I have personally dealt with. I have never seen a quote in hundreds of days that includes weekends. I have also never dealt with a customer that expected that either. Or maybe I’m just lucky and never had a customer complain about the hundreds of thousands of dollars they were losing.
Granted usually when we get into hundreds of days we quote weeks or months.
ExtremelyInvoices calendar days.
Quotes to send/receive a product business days.
Maybe the industry we work is odd.
I work in construction and lead times given in days are business days, anything over 10 days is given in weeks. In the world of manufacturing I work in. Why not if they are keeping them rolling in at a fast enough pace?Did you know that it is 120 days from the day they close the order window and doesn't start until after they submit the order to Stockys? Do you think that they are sending individual orders to the manufacturer for each stock?

I agree. But there is no quote of weeks. Anywhere. Except for optional coating. So it did strike me as odd. 120 days + optional weeks. This makes no sense. If I'm manufacturing something that takes me 30 business days, I would quote 6 weeks as lead time. That simple and not confusing like breaking the calendar apart. Because that's how mistakes happen and errors are made. A manufacturer accepts orders in batches not as individual orders. I'm sure that there is a minimum order number that has to be placed. Once an order is placed, you can't just add on an extra one for "ol' Bob" with out doing a change order. Change orders often cost extra and loses your place in line. Manufacturing is not like retail sales. A manufacturer may accept your order based on them having enough raw materials to make your wigit. They order or allocate materials to make your widget. You put in a change order and now they dont have enough materials to make all of your order so it gets bumped until more materials get delivered. There is a lot more that goes into making an order than just a credit card number and hit submit. Why not if they are keeping them rolling in at a fast enough pace?
You must be in a unique industry. Everywhere i have ever been, 30 days is 30 days. They don't exclude weekends or holidays. In the world of manufacturing I work in. With the hundreds of quotes I have personally dealt with. I have never seen a quote in hundreds of days that includes weekends. I have also never dealt with a customer that expected that either. Changing topics from the shipping conversation…
Does anybody has a picture of a Rokstock or lite with a mini arca in front the action screws (balance point)? Wondering how it will look. Thanks.

Same,i ordered mine with a new tikka that’s getting nitride.Well, I don’t like hearing this right after I just ordered my first. However, I am still very excited and hope that the QC isn’t missed on the group mine’s in.
How is that for hand carrying? I had my old stock set up like that but I was mostly using a Gunbearer or Slik Sling then
Is this the Srs mini arca rail?
