Just a guess, but since Gunwerks sells Leupolds on their systems and also has a Mark 5HD with Gunwerks designed reticle (RH1 MOA) that the owner of Gunwerks wouldn't crap on Leupold...
That is certainly one way to look at it, but i could be that Gunwerks sells them on their site because of their experience with the quality of Leupold. I dont know Aaron and have never been a customer of Gunwerks, but i always respected Aarons opinions and experiences.

Same here. I really like Aaron thoughts and opinions when he's on various podcasts I've listened to.

I'm just cynical when it comes to peoples opinions on products that they have financial interest in.

Are you sure about that or “pretty sure”. You should not be questioning somebodies integrity based on pretty sure. Sounds like sour grapes because he was critical of your drop test.

I have no idea what you are referencing about him and the scope evals- nor do I particularly care.
Saying that any current Leupold is more reliable as an aiming device than Nightforce is unbelievably laughable. It’s takes about 10 minutes to show that. Even Leupold doesn’t try to state that.

I’m not going to get into an internet drama fest, especially with a company who offers several very good products that I use by choice( and ironically now test their own house branded scopes similar to NF, not similar to Leupold); but if you believe current Leupold scopes are more robust and durable aiming devices that are better at zero retention than Nightforce NXS/NX8/ATACR please start checking zero through use and abuse- there’s a neat “how-to” in another sub forum if you need ideas. At this point even SH has multiple threads acknowledging that the Mark 5 has been through multiple “revisions” to correct POI shifts, RTZ, and tracking issues.

I believe him on observed failure rates of Leupolds being less than NF based on Gunwerks data.

I'm sure that most Leupold-scoped, 1,000yd out of the box, "systems" that they sell to rich fat guys never leave the case. The customers ordering NF-scoped systems probably drop it as they take it out of the case to show their buddies while drinking $15k bottles of Bourbon.

Yes I'm jealous.

Settle down there fella. Im not saying Leupold is better. Im just saying you should not be questioning somebodies integrity based on the fact that you are “pretty sure” he has an issue with Nightforce. Man you get so butt hurt when somebody questions you.

I get “questioned” more than any person on this forum, and there was zero emotion in my response. I stated facts.

You often give what appears to be an emotionally charged response and the say you are not being emotional. Maybe it just comes across that way on the internet.

I do not respond with emotion- my reaction was to you saying I am upset because someone said something that I know nothing about.

I should have said more along the lines of: while experiences vary, someone saying that they have had more issues with current NF’s than they have current Leupold scopes- is a bit like someone saying that they have had more issues with Toyota Tacomas, than they have with Ford Pintos. Technically that could be true, but it also should raise eyebrows and questions.

Ok. Back to my original question. Do you know that Aaron is lying about his experience with Nightforce due to some bad blood between them or is that just conjecture? I have always respected his opinions and that information could change the way i feel about that.

I really like listening to Aaron. He did say some shit in that podcast i completely disagree with though. I dont remember the exact quote but how a flat toe line was harder to get on target. Pretty dumb. Leupold having a lower failure rate that nightforce takes the cake.
