What is making you think about bedding it? Do you have some space/movement?Offseason is here.. Mine has been fine without bedding but I'd feel better about it being bedded. I've never done a full bedding. Process seems simple but I assume a guy should be removing a little of the existing inletted bedding to make room for material? Probably want to make sure I don't mess up depth of bedding either and impact function.

Mind was TIGHT to get in place originally (I had to beat an action in with a mallet initially, its fine now once the first one seated). With high torque I don't see any movement. Haven't gotten much trigger time yet though, hoping to get out over Christmas.
You should be able to easily visibly see the rear action screw from the top with the bolt out, is it protruding? Are you certain the rifle is seated full on the recoil lug?Question on action screws. I started trying to diagnose why i was having so much trouble getting my magazine to seat on one barreled action when I hadn't previously had the same trouble with another. I think the issue was the magazine retention spring just being slightly canted. I used a 7/16" open ended wrench to hold the spring in place and it seems to have helped some. My next issue came when I tried install a third barreled action and when I torqued to just 45 in/lbs the bolt would not close, I was probably 1/4"-1/2" from the cut for bolt handle. My initial assumption, since the blockage appeared to be towards the front of the action, was a front action screw issue. Now I think its a rear action screw problem and likely need to just shorten it some. Anyone else having issues like this? Factory bottom metal.
Gotcha, yeah mine is tight also. I'd be inclined to shoot groups on a known rifle/ammo before and after before fussing with it unless you just want to tinker. Don't mess with what isn't broke/causing issues. $0.02I just don't trust that the inlet is perfect and "stress free". It is tight.
I had the same problem. I added. A small washer to shim the action screws and that fixed it. I'll probably bed it at some point.Question on action screws. All of my Rem 700 actions have wiggle room in the Rokstok. Looks like i will have some winter bedding projects. What is making you think about bedding it? Do you have some space/movement?
