Rokstok Lite

Slick set up. How do you feel about hand carrying the rifle with the arca? I really like the lite in the way it rests in my hand when carrying it without the arca. I felt like that might change the dynamic a bit.
It doesn’t change it at all. This is where the balance point is;

I’m not sure what barrel and suppressor you were using, but if you’re talking one handed carry, the muzzle is pointed up in the air on mine if I carry it forward of the hump.
It was Form’s rifle - prototype OG suppressor and 16” 223 in a carbon lite and ZT scope. It’s interesting how a few tweaks change the balance point.

Nice looking setup. Out if curiosity, what do you like on that bottom metal vs. Factory? I went CTR on my lite so I can use poly mdts.
The High Desert BM is great. I like the trigger guard shape, which is nice and wide, and also looks better to my eye than the oval of the factory plastic. I also like being able to torque to 65 in. lbs.
This BM has the KRG Midas cut as well, which accommodates the wider Midas shoe.

My Lite arrived a few days ago. It’s absolutely everything I hoped it would be.
It has the 1” recoil pad and the integrated Arca.

I mounted up the Tikka 223 in it.
Specs:

UM Tikka Action
PVA 16” 1/7 .100 fb 223 REM
KRG Midas trigger
High Desert Bottom Metal
@pods8 (Rugged Stitching) 4 rd magazine
Airlock Nano w/ LS Wild Proto Cover
UM Low Tikka Rings
NF NXS 2.5-10x32 mil scope

Weight 7 lbs 10 oz with empty mag.
The balance point set up this way is right at the front of the magazine, behind the front action screw.

Shooting: Even though I have my HNT 26 set up with raised butt pad and negative comb cheek riser, this is the flattest shooting stock I’ve ever used. I definitely prefer the lite to the regular Rokstok, which feels too bulky and too high of a comb for my preference.

Shooting 88 TMK’s at 2700 fps still has a bit of recoil, but spotting impacts is incredibly easy, even during the 100 yard zero.
The stock feel dead under recoil, as opposed to “tingy” with the HNT 26.
The Arca is solid. Being able to shoot a zero with the bipod and Garmin Xero attached was really nice. Shooting from a tripod is no different than with the HNT 26 as far as I can tell.

Thank you @Lane Avery for the work you’ve been doing with the Lites and also @Unknown Munitions for making this stock a reality.

Interested in your opinion of the Midas trigger? Pros/Cons?

I prefer it to any trigger I've used, including factory Tikka, Trigger Tech's, Timney's etc.
It has the reliability of a Tikka design, but a two stage that feels great and a wider shoe, which I also prefer to the narrow factory one. No issues with the two that I've used for the past 18 months.

Cons: The Tikka trigger is free, the Midas is pricey.

New sheep setup or will you take the HNT26?

What was your color combo?
Just told Lane that I wanted orange and black, sparingly, showing more carbon than their normal style.
New sheep setup or will you take the HNT26?
Definitely running this setup for sheep this season. Will just remove the suppressor if doing serious bushwhacking.

Went out again this evening with @SLDMTN. Shot with the Aziak Ridgeline tripod and made hits out to 768 yards. The Arca isn’t an afterthought on this stock, it integrates really well and creates a legit tripod shooting platform.

The @AirlockIndustries Nano continues to impress as well. I’d interchange between it and the 6s. In the field, there wasn’t a lot of difference even between the two. Not enough to say one was a clear winner. The LS Wild covers make mirage a non issue.
