Rokstok Lite

Get the rail. I'd agree with a lot of the voices here in that bipods are often not the best/quickest solution. However, they are another tool in the tool kit and it doesn't hurt to have the added versatility.

I tried the trekking pole trend last season. Practiced with it like crazy during the summer, and hunted with them in the field for 11 days during the fall. I concluded that I just hate having more things to carry. I'm already holding a rifle, binos, sometimes spotter/tripod, sometimes GPS/OnX, sometimes wind checker, everything else that is constantly coming in and out of the pockets or pack, etc. Adding two trekking poles to that mix drove me crazy.

Perhaps when I'm a bit older and out of shape I'll appreciate having trekking poles to get around, but for now they are just something else I need to hold or store, and I'd rather just have a tripod mounted to my rifle in the outside chance I can't find better support. Lastly, some of these new bipod designs that have come out in the past year or so are quite quick and versitle.

For those curious about how the mini pic looks on the lite

Looping, sitting, pack rear.

Ok, cool. That's what I'm doing already, go to hear. Thanks.

Looping.

Kneeling. My pack is too tall to sit so I kneel. I've been told I need to try it another way and bring one knee and plan to compare groups. I'm used to that position and I have weight on my ankles.

If you're tall enough, sit.

The pic is really helpful, thanks for that. I am tall and I do sit; usually, legs open, elbows on knees/legs, sticks in front, hugging my pack in the rear.

Looks good. Crazy it's only 20" that stock with the shorter fore end makes it look 24".

Definitely look very long. Feels pretty long but doesn’t feel too bad.

Waiting to find a good sale on a 16” 243 or 6 creed barrel. I’m thinking the RS lite with that barrel and a full size RS with a 20-22” 6.5 creed would make a nice hunting and NRL/hunting combo.
