Rokstok Lite

TLDR

Early in this thread it was mentioned this stock would limited to a 300 WSM size cartridge in a tikka t3x. Is that still true? Would it fit a 280 ackley size cartridge? Confusing information as it was also said it fits a tikka bottom metal.

The rokstock lite looks like the right stock for me.

It’s not a cartridge size thing- it’s an optimum recoil control thing. The Lite works with 280 AI recoil, it just doesn’t control it as well as the ROKStok.

Ok, I understand now.

With that said, how do you think it will fair on a t3x with a 17.5" barrel, suppressed(OTB), and 175 gr 7mm bullet moving around 2900 fps?

I need a better shooting stock that also cuts some weight from a factory t3x stock.

It is significantly better than the factory stock. It doesn’t control muzzle rise as much as the original ROKStok, but does control muzzle rise better than any other hunting stock.

Thanks for the response. Sounds like this will be the best option.

How will the cheek weld be with one of the S2H scopes and some low rings? I put a kydex piece with some screws in most of my stocks and wouldn't mind drilling and adding one on a rokstock lite. I am curious if I would even need to?

For those of us who can’t get suppressors. How’s it been with 20-22” braked rifles in terms of balance? @Formidilosus

Those who have used it like that, say it’s good. I wouldn’t personally choose it for longer than 20” probably, but I also wouldn’t choose any of the other lightweight stock options for the same.

Starting to get some more lites in the mail...

Appreciate you sharing this Lane. I think we'd be interested in seeing assembled weights moving forward, including the recoil lug, recoil pad, and basic/included 3 sponge paint.
No problem. The Recoil pad + lug together are about 2.5 oz. The 3 sponge should be minimal weight difference, especially on the lites.

Are people bedding these stocks? I understand stocky's says it's not necessary. Specifically talking about tikka t3x.
I've bedded a few with T3xs for custom rifle builds, but it mostly comes down to personal preference. It's not required to be bedded.
