, I can get behind that. I have one on order but I'd really like to see it remain near the stated weight. I think they are both pretty damn ugly, but my rokstoks prove functional. If the lite has a bunch of fore end flex, I will likely sell mine.
Not true... Or I mis read or heard. Again tho, without shooting one, it's something I will need to confirm or deny with use. There have been zero reports of fore end flex.
Let me preface by saying I have not seen them. Not true...
I know you don’t necessarily like Form, but I have a hard time believing that he’d accept a flexy forendNot true... Or I mis read or heard. Again tho, without shooting one, it's something I will need to confirm or deny with use.
I have never met the guy, so I wouldn't say I don't like him. Hopefully you are right. I ordered a lite up, thinking it is going to be a nice stock and fit my needs.I know you don’t necessarily like Form, but I have a hard time believing that he’d accept a flexy forend
Why get the lite, if you don't care about extra ounces?

Great info. Thats one of my concerns. 1/16" is nothing and really irelevant in terms of flexing. I shoot with a bipod quite a bit. Some stocks are definitely more " bipod friendly" in my experience. Bell and Carlson for instance have been terrible. Too much flex for my liking. Not that I can't make 1 work, it's just not optimal. The Lite carries different in the hand; not necessarily better just easier in some respects. I have one currently, and will be getting more and probably adding a little weight to some for calibers over 6.5PRC. I think the Hybrid that @longrangelead did may be the real golden ticket.
In the world where good bullets that work at lower velocities are common, barrel lengths are 16-18", and suppressors are under 8 oz; I find less of a need or desire to chase ounces on rifle stocks. Others may find different.
As for the fore end being flexible, I can induce a bit more than 1/16" of flex on mine. I don't shoot off tripods/bipods very often or plan on carrying this stock with a sling. I think you would be hard pressed to get much more flex out of this fore end without really torquing on things well beyond what happens in the shot process or cracking the carbon shell of the stock. All my stocks are sendero barrel channels, on a .223 T3x lite barrel I have a touch over .224" of clearance between the stock and barrel, so I'd be talking broken stocks or bent barrels to have contact.
You're probably going to want a LOP kit/longer buttpad (wrong size showed up for this one), and some type of cheek piece/closed cell foam and vet wrap; it helps fine tune fit to stock and scope.

Over the last couple years, I have forgone slings and just hand carried. Only exception really being packing in a ways or packing out. So the "carrying better" comment does resonate with me.

What is the hybrid you speak?

Just out of curiosity. What is the purpose of the blue tape? This is how I end up carrying the rifle, the balance point on this setup (16” barrel, 10.5oz can, loaded mag) is just in front of the front action screw. Very nice in the hand.

I think it’s posted earlier in this thread, it’s a wood stock dyed black, looks like a CF RS lite at first glance. He’s tagged and hopefully will chime in with more details or pictures.

It's just a stock between the Rokstok and Lite.(I think the Hybrid that @longrangelead did may be the real golden ticket.)
