And one last probably dolumb question that's been answered as I'd planned on ordering a lite when it opens this week.

I'm 5'9", normal proportions for neck length, arm length etc. Is it recommended I go with the LOP kit from the get go instead of standard 13.5"? Maybe I should go with 14-14.25"? Or does it not really make that much difference?

I’m 5’7” and shoot a 14.5 LOP. Go longer than 13.5 and live your best life.

Have you ever shot a peak 44 stock? Once available I’m seriously considering a RS lite for a Bat Vesper Rifle. I don’t want to add any more weight but hoping the slight geometry differences would help with muzzle rise a little more. Just curious how you’d rank the two side by side.

Not Form, but I have. The Peak 44 Blacktooth is a pretty nice traditional stock, but it’s not anything ground breaking. The RS kicks its butt soundly due to the 1) the shorter trigger reach and more natural grip make it easier to get a straight trigger press and better control of the gun, 2) the butt being closer to the bore line resulting in straighter recoil impulse, 3) forearm and toe being in line with the bore makes it way easier to stay in the scope and spot your impacts because the rifle recoils in a straight line of a rest. The newer vertical grip version of the Peak 44 is something I don’t have any direct experience with. However, it appears to sort of address issue #1, but not the rest. The flat toe and forearm of the standard RokStok are pretty awesome for keeping your trace in the scope and I’ve never seen a better grip.

14.5” felt surprisingly good for me, but the comb was a bit to high with Sportsmatch medium rings. I shortened the LOP to try to address that. I think I need to switch to the higher rings and go back to the longer LOP.

Thanks yeah I have the Blaktooth on my 7 PRC. Final rifle weight is around 8 lbs 10 oz loaded. Really love the way the rifle carries. I don’t want to add any more weight but I’m thinking the RS Lite may be the ticket to keep my weight and tone down the muzzle jump just a bit. I know it’s always going to jump more than my 6.5 CM.

We’ll see how western hunt goes. Maybe I can snag a a RS Lite for the Tikka just to get familiar with it so I’m ready if/when they launch the REM 700 LA version.

Yes. Get the spacer kit. You will shoot best between 14” and 14.5” LOP.

Most shooters are fine with a pretty wide range of LOP- longer being easier than shorter with well

Yes, primarily shorter. With proper grip to trigger reach as well as grip diameter and shape, the trend is better shooting with longer LOP. I have a rifle that has a 14.75” LOP, and yet children and woman of 5 foot tall, to 6’6” dudes all say it’s the best shooting rifle they have ever fired.

What about bolt operation for shorter people on longer LOP? I’m on the shorter side and with the Rokstok and a short UM bolt handle it feels like a little shorter LOP would make bolt operation easier.

Depends on how short.

How long can the Rokstok LOP reliably go? I’m in the latter group with 16” from elbow crease to trigger finger. Always end up just making do with shorter rifles, but a properly fitting one would be nice.

I went to the SM highs and it worked much better. I could get behind the mediums, but was way too much work to be consistent.

What is the weight difference between the carbon Rokstok and carbon Rokstok Lite?

I see 29 oz for the original on UM website. Earlier in this thread 25-26 oz was mentioned for the Lite. But it is unclear whether this is with comparably equipped options. If it is unknown at this time, please just say so.
