I just picked up a new Athlon chrony from Europtic and shot a few rounds of AAC 77gr TMK after shooting some 22lr out of my T1X. The AAC averaged 2616 out of a 18” tikka 223; 50f and 1k’ sea level.

So the extra 2" gets you a tad under 50fps compared to my 16" with the AAC. I thought it would be more, and am pleasantly surprised

Yep. I will shoot some more after gun deer season and post results. The spread was significant over those three shots- SD was like 22.5. Some of this could be attributed to experimenting with chrono positioning, suboptimal position.

Yeah, my SD for 20 shots was 19.5. I can't complain about the results or the price though.

There a need for a 20 moa rail for these guns? About to buy a set of UM tikka rings on sale. Just wondering if the rail helps shooting further out. Going to use a maven rs1.2.

I went 18" hoping 73ELDMS would shoot well and line up with Avg gun quick drop. 73's @ 2840 is working and Avg gun QD is SOOO nice.
I would make trades in barrel length, velocity. etc to have Avg gun QD.

I was debating going with 16" or trying to match quick drop and I think you've convicted me. At my elevations and temps, it looks like 19" with a suppressor will make it match up for me pretty closely.

If you don't mind me asking, what elevations are you shooting in? I'm 6,500-11,000

I'm hoping to get it to line up for adi 69gr matchking and black hills 77tmk

my DA is usually around 5k.
today it's 2k, where I practice a lot, it can be 8500 in the summer.
For mine with 73 ELDM's, set up for 5k, I only need a correction of .1 out to 600 today.
range minus 2 is SO easy!

Both, just depends. 77s ususally do just fine with QD. For cheaper ammo with decent BCs, try to find IMI 77 gr SMK (Razorcore) on sale, or the 69 gr ADI SMKs. For positional/short range, ADI 55 gr Blitzkings. None of the Frontier loads have grouped well for my rifles.
