Rokslide 2025 Youth Photo Contest sponsored by Western Edge Gear

It was opening morning and I had decided to sit by myself that day. The first two antelope that came in were a doe and a big buck. I tried to draw back while the buck was drinking, but the doe had me pinned. I got a shot off when he was a little farther, but he ducked my arrow.

I didn’t have anything else come in until the evening. The same buck I had missed that morning had come back. I watched him circle the trough for 20 minutes until he gave me a perfect shot. I took the shot and watched him as he ran 90 yards from the blind and die. The first thing I did after was text my dad and tell him I had got a buck.

My 10 year old had a good week of hunting! Both had to be quick shots. 6cm two heart shots.
