Roam Rifles super light AR10s

I thought I would share my experience with my new rifle purchase. I wanted an all around rifle that I could use for backpacking, pushing brush, and shooting longish range (600 or so yards).

I like ARs. They are great for hunting brush due to being semi-auto, compact, and can be accurate. The problem is AR10s are heavy and most cartridges that fit in an AR15 loose too much steam for shooting game much past 300 yards in my opinion.

This lead to me to Roam AR10 rifles. They are made out of magnesium which cuts a lot of weight. I added a carbon fiber butt stock assembly and a Spartan Javelin Bipod and a Bushnell LRHS scope.

All together the rifle weighs just a smidge under 10 lbs. The bare rifle weighed about 6.5lbs! That’s incredibly light for an AR10.

The best part, shooting factory 6.5 Creedmoor ammo, I’m getting 1/2” 5 shot groups with 130gr Berger bullets.

I’m pretty excited to have a capable AR rifle that will be just at home on back packing trips in the mountains as it will in the thick country.

I took it out to 600 yards today. It shot extremely well. I was able to make 1st round hits in variable winds. With the 18” barrel I’m getting 2660 FPS.
