Hey everyone - hopping on with our buddy Travis Hobbs later today to discuss road side camps.

Any questions?!?

Security for the camp while you are away? I use a cable chain and padlock to keep the generator, gas cans, and cooler from getting stolen. I leave the cooler unlocked so if someone wants to feel like they "won" and stole from me they can have a few beers and some bagels.

Campers are often keyed using one of about 5 key styles, so I don't leave anything valuable in the camper, even when locked.

Maybe addressing the appropriate spacing/camp manners in a crowded area?

Mods for rough roads on trailers?

We are working on an old pop up camper because my wife is sick of setting up our Kodiak. I had my doubts but have to say it is coming along nicely.

That was good.

I am leery of wood burning as it is just so dry most of the places we hunt. I'm also very nervous of leaving a hot stove alone. Our new popup project had a 30# tank on the front to connect to our Big Buddy, that should last awhile. We also have a spare Big Buddy to bring in case of failure. Probably still use small bottles for our stove for now.

We have not had issues with moisture when using propane but have only used them in tents which breath well. We really enjoy our Kodiak, it's a big one with a walled kitchen, but set up time sucks. We usually travel with a small tent and a big one and if late just set up the small one until the morning.

I am going to look into pellet heaters. I think that's a cool idea.

overnight heat in tents.....buddy heater safety. To run the buddy heater all night or not.....is it safe, do they do it?
What to pack? Shelter Options....wall tent/tipi/ campers/ back of truck options, Truck/ utility trailer with ATV?...so many options. I can see this being a very informative podcast. Roadside camps mean comfort usually....so hope to hear lots of great gear ideas on what to bring for maximum comfort. Gear items that can serve multi purpose because roadside camps can be VERY pack intensive. You can bring SO MUCH gear....LOL that I feel you have to maintain a balance between comfort and set up/ tear down time
