Looking for opinions for rings/mounts for this scope. Thinking about just going with Nightforce X-Treme Duty Ultralite 30mm Medium 4 Screw Ring Set (A101) or perhaps X-Treme Duty™ - Ultralite™ Unimount™. Part of me also wants to use an ADM AD-RECON-S 30mm Tac Lever Scope Mount (QD). Any thoughts or experiences would be welcomed!! Any other brands I should be considering? Thanks!

First...what's it going on? Rifle and cartridge can make a difference here.

Yep, should have included that. To start, it will go on a custom Kidd Supergrade (rimfire)....yes, it overkill for sure. I might also put it on an AR in the future, but not sure.

With one piece mounts, most are designed for ARs to line up eyeball to scope height in that kind of a setup. They can be used on other rifles with an adjustable comb/cheek riser if there's enough height adjustment. But for a normal gun with a normal stock, the scope will usually sit far too high. For now, I'd just go with the 4-screw rings appropriate to the height of the KIDD's stock and receiver.

Agree with your comments on one piece mounts. I'll most likely just go with the 1" rings, although ADM makes a QD one piece mount that is 1.125" total, so not too much difference. Would you just go with the Nightforce rings??

Can't say for sure about the ADM mounts, as without having used one, I'd be concerned about it being an unsatisfying middle-ground, depending on how the stocks would line up. Personally, I'd just go with the NF rings. Only thing would be to make sure the spacing will work on the AR so that both the rings are on the upper only, not one on the upper and the other on the handguard.
