Just picked up my custom 280 from Tumbleweeds Custom Rifles. I ordered the long action Hawkins Direct Mount rings to keep the setup lightweight but the spacing doesn’t fit the tube on my NF 2.5-10x42. Right now I’m thinking Talley Extended Lows unless anyone has any other suggestions.

That is a common problem with short tube scopes on a LA. That’s to bad cuz the Hawkins Hybrids are awesome. Talley extended would work or a rail/lightweight rings.

Tuff to beat a swfa 6x... heaps of ring spacing.

Low rings on a rail would be the ticket if u so choose to keep the Nightforce.

I think I’m going to go with a NF aluminum rail and the Hawkins ultralight tactical aluminum rings. Want something to mount with loctite and be rock solid forever.

Look into a Murphy precision titanium rail with Hawkins rings if you want to keep it light as possible on a pic rail setup.

If that’s a bdl setup I’d be inclined to try the area 419 arc rail for a little more finger room, and to look cool, and cause it has a recoil lug

Whatever you get I’d find something with a recoil lug built in.
