Anyone have anything good or bad to say about their rifles? Looking at a lightweight strata. At 5lbs though it may be too light for longer range.

Knowing about compounding interest it'd be hard to look past a Barrett fieldcraft used at that 1300$
I'm jealous MF. Isn't it fun being in a position of researching and purchasing a new rifle?! Can't wait to see what you end up with. From the sound of things it looks like you'll end up with a nice rig.
Barrett’s limited calibers are not what I’m looking for. I may be able to pick up this Strata for about $2k. Seams like a good deal.
Resurrecting an old post here, so might be far too late. But I am having Lex build me a LW 70 in .300WM right now but am considering .338WM instead. How was the recoil with and without the brake for you with your .338WM Strata off the bench and how hard was it to practice with and shoot in the field? Thank you. Recoil jump in an ultralight from .300 to .338WM is a concern. CheersThe only big game rifle I've shot for the past 20 yrs. has been a .338 W.M. Strata the Lex built for me. Shoots as well today as when I first got it. Absolutely love the light weight. 4 3/4 lbs. bare rifle. 6 1/4 with 2.5x8 Leupold, sling and 4 rds. Shoots 3 in. groups at 400 yds. which is good enough for me. The rifle can shoot better than I can hold. If I was looking for another rifle, it would be a Strata again.
I am guessing you won’t be able to spot your shots with either.Resurrecting an old post here, so might be far too late.
