Rifle size and weight. Going big for accuracy?

My 7 SAUM is just over 9 all in with a suppressor and think it’s the Goldilocks rifle. I could live with up to 11 for a heavier caliber (300/338, etc) or down to 8 for really steep and deep stuff, but like anything there are trade offs.
I'd agree with this 100%. My 7 SAUM is 8lbs 8oz minus ammo. I think 9 pounds give or take a few oz is the sweet spot. My SAUM is easy to shoot at that weight.

I have a Tikka super-lite in 7mmRM that's a touch over 8lbs. My Tikka 6.5 creed rifle is up around 13 I believe.

I wouldn't say that I really shoot either more accurately out to 500, I've never really shot the 7mm further but wouldn't have an issue doing so. The heavier rifle is easier to get stable and recover with but for a general hunting rifle I've never felt hindered with the light one. Shooting off hand may be a different story but that's an absolute last resort for me as I know I don't shoot offhand well.

30-06 Stainless MK77 22" bbl: 8lbs 2oz

300 WM M70 26" bbl: 8lbs 7oz

35 Whelen AI Mauser 98 custom build 25" bbl: 8lbs 4oz

270 Win M79 XTR 22" bbl: 9lbs 7oz

All weights are scoped and with sling, not loaded. No brakes or suppressors need apply.

I don't shoot at 700 yds like the op was asking about, but I would take any of them, any day, out to any range they can carry enough velocity for reliable expansion.
