Rifle Scope Upgrade

Haven't posted in a while, but I am looking at upgrading my rifle scope on my hunting rig. Lurking and reading around here I have narrowed it down to a Nightforce NX8 4-32x50 or a Trijicon Tenmile 5-25x50. Both second focal plane models in MRAD, had an issue with FFP Vortex scope seeing reticle at low light on my elk this year. Really torn on both, compared both in hand and still struggling. Can I assumed durability from other Trijicon scopes can translate to that model of the Tenmile? Can save about 120 on the Trijicon, that is where I am leaning. Can anyone convince me one way or another? Comfortable with mag range I know everyone will say reduce the mag range. Also not a fan of the Maven RS1.2 reticle so that is out.

Not to say money doesn't matter, but at or over 2k does 120 bucks matter a ton?

If it was my 2 grand I would go nx8, but I would also be getting ffp. Do you have a preference for one reticle over the other?

Only a few ffp reticles are any good in low light. Between those 2 id pick a nightforce, but it shouldn't matter much. Both will be unnecessarily hard to use for wind holds because they're 2FP. For pure hunting a swfa 3-9 is better than either and 1/3 the price.

I personally don’t prefer any NF or Trijicon reticle for a hunting gun. Both are solid choices for general durability and function though.

Any reason for needing 25 or 32 mars zoom? I shoot weekly well past 1,000 yards and almost never use more than about 12x.

I understand if the use case is very small targets that blend in like ground squirrels and prairie dogs. Other than that, too much zoom only ever hurts hunters and doesn’t help them at all.

Also, you are aware that second focal plane changes your impact location based on zoom correct?

You didn't ask, but my honest opinion is you're making a big mistake going with a high magnification second focal plane scope.
