Wanting to improve my shooting this fall with my Browning x-bolt 270 wsm. The rifle has been impressively accurate for 7+ years. I currently use a Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 and have also installed an Atlas BT-46-LW17 bipod. Going to be using for everything this fall (elk, deer, antelope, and black bear). My ambition is to improve my shooting to be able to extend my range beyond 400 yards out to ~600. My question is will this setup allow for such with my rifle scope's Boone & Crockett reticle? I see guys adjusting their scope dials for shooting out this far and I've never done this nor measured wind etc. Apologize for my ignorance but eager for feedback! Thanks!

Here are a couple of things to start reading, that are packed with realistic information - it would be good to read through all of it before making any decisions:

Do you have your instruction manual that came with the scope? It goes in the pretty good detail about which cartridges and ranges can be used with that reticle. The tip of the bottom duplex should get you to around 550 with most .270 wsm loads and a 200 yd zero. The more important question is do you have any place to go practice regularly for 500 and 600-yard shots? Because if you don't, you probably shouldn't be taking 600-yard shots.

Appreciate this, was able to gather an instruction manual and see what you're referencing along with more context all around. I do have areas near me, thanks!
