Looking at replacement/adjusting /improving the heay pull on my Ruger M77 trigger. In my research this option came up, wondering if anyone has used one of these sears in a M 77 and how it worked out. My trigger currently is pretty good except for the weight of 5 pounds even, would like to get it down to 3 punds max. My rifle is from 1985 and is the tang safety model.

Not sure on that one. I would expect it to be an improvement. Rifle Basix makes good products. I know the Timney replacement trigger will get you there.

That said, have you adjusted the factory trigger? Early models were adjustable for pull weight and sear engagement. Screw on the trigger shoe itself and a slotted screw above. You can find instructions online at Rifle Basix.

I have not adjusted it at all. The sear is around $41 US. The Timney is going to cost $ 275 Canadian, basically $200 US or slightly less. So if the RB sear works well it will save me money. I will check out adjusting my factory trigger.
