Hey guys, this is kind of a loaded question and I apologize for my ADHD brain.
I’m currently running Leica Geovid HD-Bs and also use a Kestrel 5700 for ballistics—I only use the Leica solver for quick shots, but when I have time to set up, it’s always the Kestrel data I trust for wind holds etc. Simply range and plug distance into shot set up.
Curious if any of you with rangefinding binos (Revic or otherwise) primarily rely on your Kestrel for the real shooting solutions like I do—does the bino solver mostly just sit unused, or do you find yourself leaning on it more than expected?
That said, I’m eyeing the new Revic Acura BR10 Gen 2 hard because of the much stronger laser.
My main use is all-day glassing and picking apart country (no comps). The all-in-one convenience is nice, but even the Leicas leave me wishing for standalone glass sometimes.
Does the Revic Gen 2 glass drop off a lot compared to Leica/Swaro for long glassing sessions? I’ve heard the “alpha-ish-class” claims and better edge clarity, but how does it really stack up in practice?
Still torn after trying both setups: take a step down in glass for the best in class laser/all-in-one, or go back to separate alpha binos + dedicated RF. Using a caster it seems I will have to input distance manually either way.
Anyone who’s compared or switched from Leica—thoughts on the trade-offs?
