Revic Acura BR10 Gen 2 Binoculars

Update: this is a great product. Excellent laser range really plays out against the competition. I was easily getting fast 2000 yard returns in terrible environments for rangefinders with mixed foliage and dark jagged rocks.

Also, the new app update has an OnX integration for mapping and finding points you’ve ranged. This is an incredible feature and it’s implemented very well. You can pinpoint something and text the OnX rangepoint instantly.

Suggestion for Revic team if possible: have the app show your last three ranges before the device connected. Otherwise you have to open the app first to use the function. There should be some kind of memory of recent ranges.

Are you me?
It's very possible, somedays I wonder if im me.

Seems like there is a serious hole in the market for a compact ~20oz 8x32 with great ranging/solution rf bino. 8x32 leicas are still 31oz, 8x32 el range are 25oz and lack in the ranging abilities.

Someone with knowledge and common sense would likely say a 20oz 8x32 with great ranging/solution/glass/fair price is not attainable but a guy can dream right?

Yeah the lens size is really a big compromise for the laser system.

I use my Leica HB3000 for hunting. They give ballistic solution to 1000 only but for banging steel I have to use my notes and a phone app. The newer Leica will reach out farther with ballistic solution but I believe it has to be linked to a Kestrel from my understanding.

Has the Revic Gen2 glass had anyone wishing they had their EL or SLC bino's in a hunting/long glassing situation?

I have been using a pair of x10 Swarovski SLC for the past 7 years. This season I used the Revic gen2. Maybe a touch of difference first and last light. With ok to good light I could not tell the difference. At first I did not like the Revic as much as I do now. Maybe the ergonomics, eye relief and focus all being slightly different took some time to get use to after spending so many hours behind the SLC’s. The glass plus the ballistics makes the choice very easy to use the Revic’s moving forward.

I’ve got a pair on the way from EuroOptic.
Can anyone confirm if I’ll be able to use an outdoorsman stud?

Yes you can, I use the outdoorsman stud on mine. The threads are a standard 1/4 x 20 on the Revic.

Also note the Outdoorsman will not set flush and will have a small gap between the stud and binoculars. Been thinking about adding a washer or 3d printing a spacer for that gap. The Revic stud accounts for that gap.

Thank you my man

I will preface this with I haven’t looked through top of the line glass before but I’m curious about color rendition in binoculars.

This afternoon was overcast with a little drizzle. I was looking at birds from back porch going back and forth between a set of BR10s and a set of Vortex Viper HD binos. The neighborhood has roof tiles that are a light red color. The vortex seemed to match the color I see with the naked eye but the BR10 made the tiles appear much lighter in color that my naked eye.

Is this what most are seeing with these new BR10s?

We have to notch the coatings to deal with the laser. Even though it's 905 NM wavelength, it's close enough to the visible spectrum that it will effect red and it's complimentary color. It really shows up in certain light and certain target colors. The laser is in the right barrel. You can see it if you alternately close left then right eye. Your brain makes a composite so you don't realize the l and r side are so different.

It's why a lrf will never compete with the best bino.... That being said I see all my tools as devices that help me kill stuff. The BR10 is a killing machine!

Thank you for this post - The viper HD's are what I've owned and used exclusively for several years so that's my only baseline.

Any chance you could post some comparison pics? I was thinking of keeping an eye out for a used pair of BR10s or BLR10b's and was hoping the quality would be equal or better to the Vipers.

The image quality is better than Vipers by a long shot. There’s just some color changes in the right tube.

Comparing the BR10s to others I own, I consider the BR 10s to be just below or around Razors in overall image quality. Well above Viper, below Razor/Swaro.

Edit: I’m only referring to the new novel BR10b

Same with the BLR10b's?
