Im want to upgrade my sleep system,i have always sleep like crap in a mummy bag.Im looking at getting a new pad in wide and a quilt in long/extra long and x wide. Most camping seems to be in mild 40-70 degree but im more worried about the colder trips of 25-50.I toss and turn like crazy. The ee revalation and Katabatic flex look to be the best options.
EE-10degree/30.4 oz/90L/64mid width/46toe width
Katabatic -15degree/31.2 oz/84L/58shoulder width/51hip/44foot
Both about the same price,ee will make it in custom colors. How the warrantys?
The other option I thought about because i cant afford to high end quilts for one to stay in the closet is to but like a 25-35 degree quilt and but some goosefeet gear boots and pants and use a down jacket for the colder trips.

When I was researching quilts the first thing I discovered is that the EE quilts temp rating is highly suspect. Lots of guys in 20 deg quilts that were cold at 30 deg. On the other hand the Katabatic quilts temp rating is very accurate. So if you might find yourself in actual 10 deg weather I wouldn’t count on the EE 10 deg cutting it if you even remotely get cold camping. I used the Katabatic Flex 15 in Sept with lows in the low 30’s and dint bundle up much and was plenty warm and I used it in Oct in 13 deg weather, bundled up and stayed warm. I tend to get cold so it was a welcome surprise. As you know I’m selling my Flex 15 in the classifieds to go a different route.

I toss and turn like crazy. I have a long wide pad with long wide EE quilt. Great lightweight setup but for me I’m ready to move on from the quilt. If you move a lot the quilt will lift on the sides and let the draft in. On cold nights it gets little annoying on cold nights. I’m officially looking for down bad with pad sleeve that will hold a 25” wide pad. I ordered the BA mystic ul15 but only holds 20” wide pad,

That’s another reason why I went with the Katabatic, it contours around your body better than the EE and the pad attachment system keeps it closed in around you. Just look at the design of each side by side.
