**Results are in** REAPER vs AIRLOCK vs PTR VENT 1 vs NOMAD TI-XC vs DD ENTICER LTI TITANIUM SHOOTOUT

My TBAC Ultra 5 does exactly what I expect it to do for its size and weight.

I'm glad your happy with it. I would not take an ultra 5 if it was free to me. It would never get used. Now the 7 is something I really like.

Have you shot a 7, or a ZG?

Yes I own several cans. Everything is a compromise.
Maybe a person could justify the “compromises” of the ultra 5 a year ago. But with suppressors out currently, I don’t see how a person could make the choice to purchase an ultra 5 if they knew the other options. And I’m not just talking about airlock

If an U5 was my only option, I would just skip a suppressor all together… Save the money because I would be wearing ear plugs either way lol

I got to do some of the prototype testing on the nano. It doesn't even make sense. It's comically small, lite and quiet!!!! I submitted paperwork a few days ago hoping to get it before the end of the year but it looks like I'll go into the new years batch for approvals

Totally agree!

Ok, well that’s a little different. I just picked up an Daed Air Nomad Ti XC and so I get it. That can is a few inches longer though then the Ultra 5.

However, I was replying to the “I would not take an Ultra 5 if it was free to me” statement, which I think is silly. An Ultra 5 on a .308 compared to a bare muzzle is still a significant difference. In a hunting situation where your’re only firing one, maybe two shots, one will make your ears ring for a day and the other will not….

Both will make your ears ring 🤣

Nope. But go ahead and keep telling everybody that if you don’t have the latest greatest whiz bang whatever then all you have is obsolete junk.
Dude. Why are you being rude? Just not necessary and detracts from the conversation. No one ever stated your equipment is out dated or obsolete. Why make a personal attack on someone for making an observation about equipment they have experience with.

It’s one thing if you know the other party or they are in front of you and you can observe sarcasm, tone and physical expression. That is not the case here. Civility is lacking in our society.

Yeah I’m not sure what the U5 is rated at, but it rang my ears with 1 shot on a 22in 6.5prc.
I suppose a 308 could be significantly different. I don’t have any experience with that combo.
If you have an U5, no offense to you. Just saying I would not use one

Who made a personal attack? Maybe go back and read the responses I was replying to? All I said was the Ultra 5 does what I expect it to considering it’s size and weight, which was followed by “I wouldn’t take one if it were free, no different from bare muzzle, etc.”

I think you may have misunderstood Dioni’s intent. Cracking jokes about suppressors making people’s ears ring is a bit of a “thing” here.

You realize that I've shot it multiple times and been around numerous of them. It's really loud. It's not hearing safe. There are better ones. All of those are facts

Not a single suppressor on the market is hearing safe shooting supersonic centerfire ammo.

Sure… if you want to put it that way, you can be technically correct (although OSHA defines it as 140-db). But there’s a noticeable difference AND a medical difference in “safe exposure” levels over time for a 125-dbA suppressor and a 135-dbA suppressor.

It’s undoubtedly better to have an Ultra 5 than a bare muzzle.

Of course there are better ones in regards to sound suppression. But they are longer and/or heavier….which goes back to my original comment….the Ultra 5 does exactly what one should expect to to considering its size and weight. That’s it.

Not to interrupt a lively discussion, but on a hunting rifle anyone try a longer suppressor to get max sound suppression and were the size trad offs worth it?

I have used 6” and 7” muzzle forward suppressors on hunting rifles. They are generally fine on shorter barrels (particularly 16-18” barrels). But, having used a Scythe, AB Raptor 10, AB Raptor 8, OG 6.5, and ZG 6.5 on hunting rifles, I vastly prefer a shorter and lighter suppressor over a longer and heavier one. The exception so far is on a rifle with stout recoil (e.g., 9.3x62).
