**Results are in** REAPER vs AIRLOCK vs PTR VENT 1 vs NOMAD TI-XC vs DD ENTICER LTI TITANIUM SHOOTOUT

Thanks to @Team4LongGun for hosting us yesterday. It was great meeting a few fellow Roksliders to talk rifles and suppressors and compare a sizable number of cans.

Having a 6.5 Airlock ordered, I was most interested in shooting the 7mm version to see how it stacked up to my Scythe. A few rounds down range confirmed I made a good decision with the black Friday preorder. For my use case of backpack hunting it’s going to be an upgrade in weight savings and sound reduction. It was awesome to hear it in comparison to the others.

Airlock was quieter than dd lti, that's impressive.

That is interesting since the db(a) ratings are

DD LTi 124
DD STi 128
AL ZG 6.5 129.5
AL ZG 7 128.5

But when I shot the ZG6.5 and DDsti side by side the ZG was noticeably quieter although the ratings don’t reflect that. With newer suppressor technology like Airlocks there seems to be more to it than just comparing DB(a) ratings between cans now.

I agree. The Db's can be played with a bit as well. Environmentals play a big factor from day to day, and some companies will publish the absolute best db achieved, not the average or a conservative number.

The ZG 6.5 sounded better than the XC, Enticer LTi, Vent1, and Reaper heads up without consideration for size/weight?! That is wild.

Yeah man, it is wild! The reaper is not far behind the ZG as far as suppression, but it is a tad larger. Unknown suppressors really impressed me with the reaper, given they are a newer can manufacturer.

It was a ZG 7 in this test group which has a little more volume than the 6.5.

The reaper sounded great as well and to my tinnitus strained ears had a slight edge over the Scythe.

The 5.5” airlock was better than the 8” Vent 1? I’m blown away by these results!

Thank you for organizing this and thanks to everyone who lent themselves to the process.

Was each suppressor also tested on ‘smaller’ calibers for performance? Meaning, was the 7mm airlock also tested on say a .223 for performance? If so, do the ratings still hold the same order?

This was an awesome opportunity to compare some great suppressors. Big thanks to @Team4LongGun for setting it up.

Not to sound like a broken record, but I generally concur with the others in the group.

Prior to this, my only suppressor experience has been my scythe which I’ve been happy with.
Of the cans I would consider for hunting, the ZG 7mm won the day. Followed by the Reaper, Nomad and Scythe in that order.

The US Reaper 6.5 on my 6.5PRC and 6 Creed is fantastic.

Would really like to try the AL ZG 6.5 on those guns as well.

I feel pretty good about my black Friday airlock order after all the great reviews. Patiently waiting for the airlock 'ultra' to be released.
