Resize full length or just neck

So on my second firing would you say just bump the shoulder .001 from my longest case? Then next firing go .002? Or just neck size after the first firing? Trying to nail this down from the varied responses.
I say keep shooting them until they give you trouble and are tough to chamber. Then bump them .002. It will be night and day.

Yes. I would neck size till you start to get chambering issues, then bump the shoulder. 002. The difference between a tough or hard to chamber piece of brass and one that is sized .002 under that, will be a night and day difference. Sorry for being vague on that.

If I remember right I had 7 firings with norma brass in my 7mm Rem Mag before I had chambering issues. Granted, I wasn't shooting hot loads but they certainly weren't mild by any means.

most of us will strip a bolt and size a case and insert the case in the chamber to check this. if the bolt has resistance to closing from the beginning you size a little more. do this until the bolt will close about half way until you feel resistance. at this point you should be able to measure some set back of the shoulder --less than a thou maybe or maybe a thou. this cannot be felt with the firing pin in the bolt.

i leave comp rifles at this point but any rifle going to the field needs more bump. if you save a case that is fired 3 times and record the measurement of it to use as your base length that measurement will be what you subtract .002 from. the bolt should literally drop now as if no case is in the rifle.
