What are some books that you feel every hunter should read? Does not have to pertain to Western hunting.

The Big Burn: Teddy Roosevelt & The Fire That Saved America
-Timothy Egan

A Sand County Almanac- Aldo Leupold
American Buffalo, Meateater, etc- Steven Rinella
Tenth Legion- Tom Kelly
These are my go to books as far as hunting and conservation go

Check out how this question was previously addressed here. Lots of great recommendations.

The Longest Silence, by Thomas McGuane. It’s a short story about fishing, but really captures the draw of pursuing elusive game.

Peter Capstick stuff is great.

Rinella's two books are awesome.

The Man-Eaters of Tsavo: And Other East African Adventures by John Patterson. In university, I came across this book in the library and couldn't put it down. I skipped my classes the rest of the day and just sat there reading.

Wild at Heart by John Eldredge

Big Red by Jim Kjelgaard

The Hobbit

Lord of the Rings

Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls

Just as I am - autobiography of Billy Graham

The count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas

Jules Verne has some great books

That is a fairly diverse list, should be able to find something you like. You can get phones apps that have a huge collection of classic books for free.

The Wilderness Hunter by Teddy Roosevelt..... best American hunting book I’ve read.
When I was a kid I loved a book called ‘The Story of American Hunting and Firearms’.... that book single handedly changed me as a kid
Death in the Long Grass is badass as well
Rinella’s American Buffalo is great too

Trails of a Wilderness Wanderer,
by Andy Russell ....

Shadows on the Koyukuk,
by Sidney Huntington...

Black Elk Speaks...

For the younguns:

Little House in the Big Woods...

Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen....
