Replacing busted leg on Silk tripod

So the bottom leg on my Silk tripod busted the other day. In looking at how to fix it do you have to take the whole leg off and drop the new leg extension from the top do you just push it in from the bottom?

I'm not sure how you do it on your tripod, but when I broke a leg on my silk a few years back I just called them up and they sent me the parts to fix it and a manual that shows how it all goes together. Very helpful. I had to pay for it all, cuz it was my fault it broke, but they were great to work with
