Removing Cerakote?

I know the cerakote vs nitride topic has been beat to death, not just on this forum but everywhere. I can’t seem to find any info on removing Cerakote from a rifle action and then having it nitrided. Is that even a thing? Ive read that abrasive blasting is how you remove the coating. I have no experience in abrasives and wonder if it will change the tolerances and or surface to inhibit the nitride process.
I have a Defiance AnTi X and love the action, but after a particularly wet elk season I really experienced how gummy it started to feel. My other rifles are nitrided, this was a trial run which didn’t work out.

Media blasting is the way, and nitride prices generally include some already. I'd ask about Cerakote removal, as it might take a bit more work. Or not.

If you like the matte stainless look of measuring tools, industrial hard chrome is usually found on pistols, but also works great on receivers and barrels (exterior). The cool thing is aluminum parts can also be coated so a rifle matches from head to toe. It’s hard as woodpecker lips so cycling of the bolt is much improved.

Honestly for this particular rifle looks is significantly outweighed by function. Hard chrome is a process I’m not familiar with I’ll look into. Thanks!
