Removing case lube

I use some kind of lanolin lube for sizing and wipe it off after seating the bullet with a paper towel.

Re new Lapua. I expand with a mandrel, using imperial wax.

I tumble off the wax, this also takes away the grittiness of the annealed necks.

Then zip it through the giraud before priming.

Do not size virgin Lapua

I just use a dry neck lube before mandrel and don’t worry about cleaning

I had nothing but problems with imperial dry lube. Just didn’t do as good of a job. Didn’t make consistent seating force, and didn’t lubricants enough to prevent galling.

Little imperial on the rim.

After lubing the case I’ll just rub my finger over the rim, leaves enough to keep the carbide running smooth.

I typically just use one shot on everything for lube and vibratory tumble in rice afterwards. Hand wiping every case sounds like a giant PITA.

Never thought of rice, but am going to give it a whirl.

I clean them in an ultrasonic cleaner after sizing. Comes out looking like new and lune is gone. Then I blow each case out with compressed air and then allow them to air dry.
