I have an older Remington 870 express magnum, took it apart to finish the wood. Cleaned it good as it was dirty. Re installed the trigger group and it will cock, but trigger is no functioning, just pulls back. If I remove the trigger group, it cocks and fires just fine.
If I take the barrel off and move the forearm and breech bolt about 1/2 an inch past where it should be, the trigger fires. If I remove the pins and have the trigger group float slightly lower than the action, it fires.
What am I doing wrong with re assembly or what should I check first? Happy to send pics to anyone that can help.
