Remington 7600 Barrel Removal Issue

I got a 1950’s production 300 Savage cheap once because the barrel was loose. I pulled it on off, cleaned it up, then torqued it back on. Put a 4X Leupold and a cutdown stock on it and my son killed his first buck with it.

Range update for those following along:
+1 point to the don’t mess with it gents, the hole next to my thumb is a three shot group. I then shot the second group to check my sanity, was almost a repeat. Not a 10 shot group, but crazy what these guns are capable of.
