Does anyone have any experience with this gun?
On paper it sounds good.
Looked at one at cabelas and the stock was either crooked or the barrel was crooked, so remington's qc might be as bad as everyone says. Based on that I don't think I'd buy one sight unseen.

I have one in 300win mag. I wanted a magnum in stainless and liked the overall package on paper. 5r rifling was a plus and I have some nostalgia for a Remington 300 because my dad shot one years ago. Bought it sight unseen after reading a couple of favorable reviews and an article.

I don’t have a lot of rounds through it and haven’t hunted it yet. It shoots 3/4 inch groups with factory ammo at 100yards. Fit and finish are good. I dropped a timmeny trigger in it because I still have some concern about the factory Remington despite their changes. Not exactly a fact based or rational position but it is what it is.

I am also thinking about putting some bottom metal in it.

Not a bad gun and I got a fairly good price. It is a “midweight” though. Not heavy but not light. I think it is pushing 8.5 lbs with a scope, base and rings. I put it together with someheavier parts so I could have shaved it down. If I wanted a backpacking gun I might go something lighter.

Knowing what I know now, I think I would have bought a tikka lite or something. Just lighter and more function for the money. To be clear, my issues are ones of an evolving preference as opposed to any issues with performance.

I just bought it earlier this year and built it this spring. Rifle season back east is a month away so it hasn’t been in the woods. 2-3 range trips haven’t done it any harm. I think it is the same finish as on a 308 I have and that has 2 seasons on it. Apart from some scratches it is very good.
