Remington 700 aftermarket bottom metal???

Is this something that exists as a drop in or is that just a pipe dream?

I have a Remington 700 xcr2 375HH, it has had some work done to it, it was blueprinted (before I owned it), it’s had an m16 extractor and dual ejectors installed, the bolt handle has been tig welded, it’s got a trigger tech trigger and the barrel has been cut back to 20”.

I know this is tikka country but that Remington has been an awesome gun, I’ve taken I think 14 annals with it in the past 10 years or so.

I was looking at is this morning and the bottom metal seems to be sort of cheap, I hadn’t looked much at it before but it just has the appearance of being sort of shitty.

Is there anything out there where I could upgrade the bottom metal/trigger guard with minimal at home fitting? I doubt there’s any options for an extended magazine like you can get for the Ruger guide guns.

Hawkins Oberndorf BDL are pretty nice

PT&G makes an extended Oberndorf that will give you +1 in the box too

No personal experience with them but I know Hawkins Oberndorf bottom metal generally gets good reviews.

Wyatt's makes several extended length magazine boxes for 700's. Pretty sure 3.830 is the longest option without altering the action.

I've used the Hawkins on a couple rifles that had stocks inlet for factory Rem BDL and they fit just fine with no real hassle. They are much nicer versus factory IMHO. Depending on stock you have, you may end up being off just a bit in front, cosmetic only but fyi the shape is a bit different on the Hawkins.

I've used the Hawkins on a couple rifles that had stocks inlet for factory Rem BDL and they fit just fine with no real hassle. They are much nicer versus factory IMHO. The stock is the factory plastic Remington stock, its green with sort of black rubber grip areas.
