Looks to be Briley-installed chokes? Is the gun original other than chokes, or is this a custom? Ive never seen the stepped rib on an 11-48. If custom who did the work?

You are correct, they are Briley chokes. They were installed in 1992, I still have the receipt from when my grandfather got it done. A little back story, this was my great grandfathers. He passed away in 1989 and my grandfather got it. It was rarely shot as it is in fantastic shape. I shot it a few times just for the hell of it, but that is it. My guess is my great grandfather ordered it with the stepped rib from the factory. He was known to do that to get what he wanted. He ordered a 61 chevy impala from the factory, then barely drove it. Kept it in a garage. Unfortunately my aunt has that car now, not me. If it was done by a gunsmith, I have no idea who. My great grandfather lived near Warsaw, IN.

No way I would sell a gun owned by my great-grandfather, no matter the make/model/price. Don't do it!!

I have the exact same gun (original condition), nice to see it's worth something. My grandfather on my mom' side left it to me, I will never sell it.

anyway, free bump for a nice gun

Thats a cool gun. I had a 16ga 11-48 for a while, it was a nice, reliable gun that handled better than a lot of the other autos I had used.

Really cool gun for sure. I had a 1148 in so and my favorite 58 is 12. If you are a skeet shooter t🙄his would be a nice add.
