I just picked up some Berger 168 VLD hunting bullets for my 7mm. Looking for load data on these to get started for my elk hunt next season. I'm currently using Nosler Accubond 160 grain.

Thanks

Start around 68 grains of H1000 and work up. One rig liked them with around 69.5 grains and another liked them around 71 grains. Both with WLR primers and CCI mag primers.

My 7 rem mag load.

168 Berger match
68 Grains H1000
OAL 3.400
Rem 9 1/2 primer

I would start lower than 68 Grains just to make sure your not missing an accuracy node. but thats just me.

Climber, Did you chrono that load? Sounds like backing down to around 67 might be a good idea. The 168 Hybrids were easy to get to shoot in mine.

Though there are probably better powders for the 7mm, I've had great success with rl -19. Tried a handful of powders but my rifle loves it the most.

I'm the last guy you'd wanna talk to about my chrono speeds... The barrel is only 20 inches so I'm getting 2805 fps.

But it's deadly accurate and was free as I inherited it from my dad so no complaints here :)

2805 ought to kill stuff just fine. My 69.5 out of a 24" was in low 2900s. Mainly shooting high bc bullets from 2800 - 3000 these days and life seems pretty easy.

For my 7 mag I was going to start with this:

Berger 168 Classic
H4831 (59-65g)
Fed 215M primers

Finally have everything but haven't started loading yet.. Looks like it's going to be more of a fall/winter project with my schedule as busy as it is
