REM 700 Nightforce NXS, which rail?

Model 700 XCR.300 Win Mag. Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56. Intended as a LR hunter, but would like to ring steel out to 1600 sometime. 20 or 40mm Base? Suggestions on which bases and rings?

20moa. That NF scope will have enough elevation travel in the turrets. I have taken a 308 out to 1400 with a NF 3-15 on top of a 20moa base and had plenty of travel in the turrets.

I would think you'd be able to get to 1600 with the 300mag with that scope even with a 0 MOA base. I have my NXS in a Larue one-piece quick disconnect because I wanted to be able to use the scope on multiple rifles, but if I was going dedicated to one rifle I'd just get the NF Ultralites.

Second on the nf ultralight for a hunting rifle have the 20 moa base on my atacr and is a solid setup without carrying an extra 2 lbs

I really like the Force Recon Tactical Rings|Ultimate Recoil taming rings and would go with a 20 MOA rail from Talley.

NF 20 moa rail.

Been using Seekins 20 moa rail and rings with no issues. I'd double check to insure you don't need to bed the rail to the action. Have had to do that to 2 out of 3.

20 MOA Base for sure. I have been running the TPS Rings and Bases lately and have been very happy with them. I would also bed the base, just to make it match the action.
