Here's another one from my dad's collection. As the title says, it a Remington model 700 BDL 338 Win Mag that was an auction item from 1989 Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, number 32/100. It's in excellent condition with a very low round count. It comes with the Burris 4-12 scope, bipod and muzzle brake. My dad did take it on an elk hunt many years ago and his ballistics chart is still stickered to the stock. I'm not totally sure of it's value, so I'll start by asking $1100 but let me know if I'm off base. I'll ship from my FFL to yours. Cheers

I wasn't being an a$$. I was just saying that what makes it more valuable than any other 700 just like it is because it would be a collectors piece. That being said the highest value would be the gun in brand new condition as it came from the factory.
You are looking for the right guy who wants it. A collector is going to want an original one. Someone just wanting a 338 win is just looking for the cheapest one.
It's a really nice looking rifle no doubt about that. I know you can't do anything about what has been done to it in the past. In your original post you said that you didn't know what the value was so I'm just giving you information on how to figure a value for yourself.
Is it worth more as a collectors piece after you take off for the muzzle brake, scope, and sticker being added. Plus being used and shot? Or is it worth more as a regular rifle with the muzzle brake, and scope?

Thanks guys. I knew weren't being an ass J. It is what it is. I realize you guys are just giving input on how the condition effects price, but you haven't mentioned anything about my proposed price. Rodney you might be right, Gunbroker might be a more appropriate venue.
Cheers, Marc

Marc, on gun broker regular rifles are selling from 650 on up. A new one is listed for just over $900 FWIW

Interesting... I looked on GB before listing it here and saw prices from $800-1200, but I'll look again.

After it’s been fired, I’m not sure the RMEF means much. I own several banquet rifles, some shot, most not. Other than to me, I don’t think many people care that’s they are RMEF rifles.
If it was my dads elk rifle, I’d hang on to it.

My dad had a lot guns. I can only keep so many, but this one is pretty cool.

Thanks for the insight. I didn't think RMEF added much to the value but I wasn't sure. I tried to contact them about donating it back to them but all I got were crickets...
