I believe it’s a jebbs xx full. Cva scout stock choke. Rolled the bird then she got up and flew off. Went 30 ish Yards and was done.
At 40 yards with the right choke/shell combo you should have at or near 300 pellets in a 10” circle of #9s with a 1 5/8oz load. If it got away from that, it was your fault, not the shot size fault.

410, not 12 ga, only 13/16 oz. It didn’t get away, it just wasn’t drt.

That’s with a 20ga load. Your .410 should have around 160 pellets in a 10” circle at 40 yards with #9s. Should have been no problem with the correct setup and a good shot. Still, not the shot size’s fault.

Understand completely, have never bought anything larger than #8's. But have a but that did buy some #4' and loads them for coyotes. Will ask him about the shot he received. Dang good pattern you posted, how far was the shot ?

That was 50 yards with a 12 gauge 2.75” load. 88 pellets in a shell, 75 on that cardboard, 32 in a 10” circle

That should be nasty on the coyotes. Wonder if 100 pellets in a 3.5" is possible.
My bud is putting 40ish on a 12" square at 50, shooting #4's from a 2oz load

I read this thread and didn't see any speeds listed. I am considering trying similar loads and curious as to what speed would be best. I've loaded lead shot and lead #4 buck shot but have trouble keeping patterns together with increasing speed. Also powder recommendations. I've heard steel and longshot are good
