So here is the story. I was loading some .300 Win Mag rounds today. I loaded 5 with Nosler 180 E-Tip/ 77 grains of H 1000 and 5 with 79 grains of H1000. I then put away the H1000 and loaded 5 165 grain Accubonds with 69 grains of H4350 then 5 with 71 grains of H4350. Just like the Nosler book recommends.
I goofed up while loading the 165 grain Accubonds. I forgot to change out the H1000 from my trickle feeder. So on a couple of the Accubond rounds I ended up adding between .1 and .4 grains of H1000 to top off the pan with 69 or 71 grains of H4350 before pouring it into the case and adding the bullet. Will this make a difference? These are test rounds and I am looking at shooting the 4 different loads through my rifle so I can find the most accurate load. The old timer I load with said it shouldn't matter but I am not sure. Thanks for any help.

pull the bullets and start over. Do u have a bullet puller? I guess i wouldn't try it just because i have read to never mix powders but that isn't much of a mix .1 to .4 Im sure someone else will have some better ideas.

Yeah I have a bullet puller. I know better then starting with another powder before cleaning all of the other powder out. I just spaced the trickle feeder. I will just pull them and start over.

if your goal is to see how 69gr and 71gr of 4350 shoots, i would pull the bullets and start over. i personally don't think the few kernels of H1000 would cause much of a safety issue, but i would not have confidence in the shooting results. (I would have to go back and shoot those loads again without the extra powder to be confident in how those loads perform) Good luck!

The h1000 is a much slower powder and in such a small amount that there is no safety issue but I'd pull them all just in case there is a tiny effect on accuracy and the principle of it not being exactly right.

based on principle i would pull and pour it right back in the jug and shake it up. you all would be horrified at the mixtures of powders that are shot by some shooters at matches.

Why are you jumping 2 grains at a time if searching for accuracy? I would suggest a half grain between test loads.

I am trying out 5 E-Tips at 79 grains because the velocity is supposed to be close to what the 180 grain Accubonds are shooting with 79 grains and that is the most accurate load I have found for my .300 WM. It shoots right at 3/4" groups with 79 grains of H1000 and 180 grain Accubonds.
