So i loaded up some 223 with 69TMK with 8208 xbr.
So for reference i get like 1.2ish groups with factory Hornady 73s. MV 2597

With 22.7 grains I got little worse than that size but lower velocity 2510, SD10
23.0 was 2596 sd 16

As it velocity increased groups just got worse. Up to 23.3. Mv 2652, sd13

Also I tried some black hills 69tmk, and it was awful, my mv 2819

So any ideas on the issue or suggest. Changing to Varget?

I might keep going up until hitting pressure. I think book is 23.8 for the 69gr Sierra HPBT. 2819 with the black hills is smoking.

16”.
The. Velocity could be better, but the groups my main concern.
I was looking for similar performance in getting with factory ammo

What's your twist rate? My rifle is a 1-8 and it likes the 73eldm, 75bthp, and 77tmk's with 23.5grs of 8208.

You could try another powder or two. Just load 10 at starting load or a little above.

If it won’t shoot after a powder swap or two, your barrel just doesn’t like that bullet and you’ll be pulling your hair out trying to get it to work. Just switch bullets at that point.

Don’t waste too much time or components if it’s not shooting well and you’ve tried a couple powders, charge weight is not going to bring it from a 2” gun down to a 1” gun
