Bought some Hornady 110gr sp #3010 varmint bullets. Just some cheap lead to throw. Looking at the Gordon's info and I get a warning " Guided seating depth of bullet to small" unless I take the overall length to 2.735" at 2.740" I get the warning . I normally load to 2.80" and shot Barnes 130 ttsx. There is a fair jump for that bullet at that length. Should I be concerned going that short? It may not be that bad with a different shaped bullet. Open and see what it looks like? How much does one need down the neck?

With the bullet just setting in the case I am at 2.805" so loaded it is only in .070" unless I seat it deeper with more jump.

The good bad or ugly?

Just load it to book COAL and start there. I pondered this when I was playing with 100gr ELD-VT's in my 6.5CM. But I got a several 1/2 MOA groups on book COAL at ~0.105 jump. There was not enough bullet length to go longer without losing neck engagement.

Last thing I wanted to do was knock a bullet crooked or pushed further in while chamber.
