Got my Heavy Metal SX3 setup this weekend and did some shooting. The Stan's are pretty easy to setup and get consistency in feel between two of the same release. I don't know if the Heavy Metal versus Aluminum improves my shooting in real world results, but it does seem smoother on release with the extra weight in my hand, a little less jumpy and settles into my anchor point better.
Again, I am sure this is mental, etc., but extra weight is typically steadier everywhere else...so makes sense it would work in this application.
As other mentioned, Stan isn't the only option and Carter and Truball make quality products as well. For me, the Stan just feels very refined.
