I've had good luck with newer slippery car paste wax, Meguiars I believe.

The PVA release packaged with Acraglass worked good 4 decades ago so I’ve always used that. A quart is a lifetime supply and costs something like $10, maybe $20 now. No drama. Always works.

I’ve tried special epoxy rated mold wax - applying multiple coats and following the directions to a tee were taking longer than PVA so I tossed it in the trash.

I bought stockys bedding kit with one and only stock I bedded for Howa mini.

The release agent they sent worked just fine. Kit was dirt cheap relative to all methods of making rifles consistent. There’s enough in one kit to do my rifle, wife’s rifle, and probably 2-3 more.

Another Kiwi shoe polish user, never had an issue.

I’ve done 4 or 5 with the acraglas kit using the latex paint style release agent in the kit. It’s generally worked fine but I’ve had a couple close calls
