Does anyone know who will rebuild an old redfield scope.

Why are you rebuilding it? Those scopes weren't even very good when they were new, and there are way better options available now.

I have 4 different redfield scopes and they have been great. Not a single issue. One of em is at least 40 years old and been on a 12 gauge it’s whole career. Has kept zero for decades without being adjusted. It is great in low light. I almost feel it makes it brighter out . Just used it last night actually to harvest a late season doe. Sorry no help on where to rebuild it.

Maybe it’s for posterity. My dad’s 06 had a Redfield Wide View on it. These were really good scopes 50 years ago.

I have a Redfield that has lived on a 338win since the 80's. Glass isn't up to today's standards but it's good enough and the reticle seems to stay put.

LOL, Perhaps you are referring to the Redfields from the last 20 years or so. But the old, Colorado made Redfield was a had to head competitor to Leupold 50+ years ago. There were many deer camp discussions regarding the qualities of each and much like Ford vs. Chevy, each camp often held their position. I was always a Leupold fan, but the Redfields served fine.

Is there better quality glass and scopes today? Yup. But I've got an old 03A3 with an El Paso made Weaver K4 that is dented and in tip off mounts that belonged to my grandfather. It was the only large caliber rifle I knew him to hunt with, I've got a photo of him with his spike elk, but it also took a small mulie (horns in my shop), and at least one cow elk. I've shot several whitetails hunting with his rifle. Last time that rifle was used I filled my bighorn tag on a 166" ram, with the last box of ammo he bought in the early 60s, Remington 150 grain CoreLokt, all while my wife and kids watched while perched on the mountain with me.

The day I have to replace that scope will be a sad day for me. But I don't anticipate it anytime soon. That rifle/scope just keep stacking critters.

When something works, I'm not often a fan of changing it up.

I agree. I have a Redfield Golden 5 Star from the late 80s. Great scope and still works flawlessly today. Been on several different guns.

Some people like vintage stuff, the old ones are cool. Not everyone is looking for a drop test scope.

There are “better” cars out there but people still rebuild old ones.
