This doesn't really fit into Elk but it is near enough. Picked up this mount from my taxidermist on the weekend. I got a wall pedestal mount and I think it turned out really well. Sorry for the crappy I Phone pics.

Great Stag mate, South Island yeah?
What's next?

Regards,

RH

Yeah on the South Island. Next big hunt will be for Asiatic Buffalo in the Northern Territory. But you can't really get enough of hunting in NZ. I'll be back there again soon for another Tahr and Chamois hunt. It is a great country.

Thanks guys

For all you guys wanting to hunt NZ get onto the tahr ballot.

http://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-re...ns/hooker-landsborough-and-adams-tahr-ballot/

It is only $20 to enter and you are a good chance of drawing a block. The draw essentially permits you to land at your drawn site. Chopper fees are reasonable and you can hire the emergency radio gear over there.

James Scott is the man to talk to about chopper rides

http://www.scenic-flights.co.nz/about-us.html

There is a fair amount of info on the site about the numbers of Tahr at each block and you have very good odds of taking one or more bulls.
