I have a 22" 7prc that I am going to purchase a suppressor for. I am about to go with a CGS Hyperion. Thought I would see if anyone has other recommendations or knows of some new suppressors to be released next year (the latest and greatest)? It makes me a little nervous purchasing this time of year just because of new products coming out. However I want to use it this winter.

I just want to point out that there's no guarantee that you will be approved in time to use it this winter. I know some are coming back quick, but not for everyone. SHOT is coming up. Also might find a deal on something for BF.

Good point. Know a guy who got a one day approval and another same week approval. Then another friend took a month. Good point about show show in Jan. as well.

I use a Thunder Beast Ultra 5 on my 7-300 PRC. I ended up swapping back to a brake while hunting due to issues spotting impacts and misses at distance due to the recoil. This hasn’t been an issue with any other heavier or short action caliber that I shoot. 20230730_103351_Original.jpeg

Havent shot without a muzzle brake on any of my rifles for years. I am running a lightweight setup so will be interested to see what the recoil will be with a suppressor on.

Silencerco Scythe Ti is pretty hard to beat for a hunting rifle suppressor and very popular on here. I really like it on my 6.5 PRC, but it's the only suppressor I own so nothing to compare it to. These were the suppressors on my short-list.

TBAC Ultra 7
DD Enticer STi
AB Raptor 8
CGS Hyperion

I have a scythe and run it on a 300 wby and 25-06. Only one I have but I love it. Having handled friend's weapons with a supressor mounted, I find it balances better than any other gun with a can. Doesn't seem to pull the barrel down or make the gun top heavy at all.
Shot a cat with the 300 @ 600 yards and my buddy sitting even with the scope spotting next to me. Got no noise or air shock, watched the whole thing without flinching, amd even heard the cat scream when the bullet made contact. It's pretty awesome. I'd buy another one, but it's easy to swap over so idk why I'd pay another grand..

I run the scythe and KGM 6.5 suppressors on my hunting rifles. I like both alot but the scythe is hard to beat for the weight. The recoil reduction and sound is great for a small lightweight suppressor

I have tried an enticer sti and nomad lt on a 20" 7prc. The difference in sound and recoil is very apparent with the larger nomad lt being significantly quieter and lower recoil. I think 7prc/mag is where you start to see a bigger difference in small, lightweight hunting cans vs full size. I dont think an u5 has anywhere near the volume to be effective on magnums.

I'd love to try a scythe or nomad xc. Another option for recoil mitigation is the dead air e brake, which would work on the diligent defense cans as well.

7 PRC thumps. I would tend to be in that 6"/1.7" dia range or better. Honestly on that cartridge an 18" barrel and bigger can might make more sense than 20" barrel and 5-6" can. If you want to calm down the recoil impulse.

The new "braked" options are interesting and likely a good idea for the PRCs.

I have the otter creek hydrogen s and it's been a good performer. Mine is a 22" 284 win so a little less but it's rated for 7 prc no issues

I've used my SilencerCo Omega 300 on everything from a .300WM down to my 6.5 PRC and it has worked great!. Very little POI change on my rifles and recoil is less than without it. Not quite as reduced as with a break but still manageable for all.
