Looking to upgrade the scope on my Kimber Montana 308. Main use will be a backcountry type hunting so weight is a issue. Currently I’m using a Nikon Prostaff 5 2-10x that has been decent but would like to add some more magnifying power. Have been eyeballing the Vortex Razor LHT 3-15x for reference. Thankyou.

I second the post above, what is the idea with more than 10x for backcountry hunting with a .308 Win? At 400 yards, probably the outside limit of the ballistics of a .308, the deer or elk or whatever you are hunting will appear to be 40 yds. Not close enough, lol?

Swarovski Z5 3.5-18 is a great lightweight option and you can find then second hand on here for not much more than a $1000, or reach out to black ovis or camera land for a decent discount on a new one

I run a Z3 on mine. Super light. Not a huge fan of the mechanicals. That said I would suggest SHV 3-10.

Trijicon accupoint 3-9x40,,reliable, numerous reticle choices, illumination without batteries and 13oz

Just went though this with the same rifle. Max range I’ll shoot with mine at elk or deer was 500 yards and I liked the Burris Veracity 2-10 with E1 reticle, seems to match our rifles well.

Leupold vx5hd 3-15x44 weighs only 19 oz. and are great scopes. Vortex has the best warranty out there but you will definitely use it.
