I’ve been trying to get in contact with Jesse at JES reboring but I suspect he’s on vacation or something. I was planning to have a factory Tikka barrel rebored by him, but while waiting for a return phone call have read that he is no longer reboring Tikka barrels. Can anyone confirm either way? If he is not reboring Tikkas, is there anyone else that you’d recommend?

Rebore is what it says. For example, take a 308 barrel and bore it out to 358 for a 358 Winchester. Not only is it rechambered but the barrel is rebored to a new size also.

Interesting, no idea that service even existed since I assumed it would be as much or more expensive thank purchasing a new barrel. Thanks for the education

It is a way to get a specific rifle in a cartridge or caliber that may not be available or to bring new life into an old cherished firearm that a new barrel isn't an option.

You can find factory pull off barrels cheap enough...what's the value in reboring?
If you want your rifle to be chambered in something that isn’t offered from the factory. The example of 358 Winchester in a tikka was a good representation of why you’d want that work done.
