Depends on the gun, powder lot, etc but yeah it’s higher than I’d load. Dangerous? Probably in danger of popping a primer and having tough bolt lift at least, less so getting seriously hurt.

Hornady laod data lists max load for 108 ELDM at 41.7. I'm loading a few tenths under that and getting 2970. Steve's load is a bit over max. This is my speed with my current lot of factory 108 ELDM 18" barrel Diligent Defense Wolf Hunter can.

Yes, the hornady h4350 max load velocity correlates to about 2900 FPS in an 18" tube. So 70 FPS beyond that likely means you are at a higher pressure than they were when they were actually measuring pressure for load data.

Question, just built a 6CM tikka with an OMR 16.5 inch carbon barrel. I don’t reload, but after reading a few posts in this thread, I’m tempted to go with the 108 UM hand loads.

Worth the velocity, accuracy for the money, or just buy factory?

I would personally try factory first. Way cheaper. UM is absolutely solid, but still not guaranteed to shoot well in your rifle. I have bought similar 'high end' ammo before and it didnt shoot as well as factory loads. I wish you could buy like 10 rounds to try it first before commiting to 50.

730’ ASL/48 degrees, Lot# 3251370. Round count on this PBB barrel for was right at 200 (post speed up), cracked 2nd case of same lot number for these 5 shots to confirm. Pretty consistent from what I’ve seen with a few outliers pushing ES closer to 47fps (negligible).
